Saturday, August 18, 2007 Visited Basil Alcove yesterday at middle road for dinner in lieu of Ellyn birthday celebration. The food was great. Appetisers seems to taste better than the main course but both are nice. =) We ordered the 3 types of pastas in menu as well as 3 appetisers where the Caesar salad seems to be the most popular among the us followed by the tomato bruschetta. The chicken caesar salad was just right with the amount of dressing as well as the chicken being grilled just right. The smoke duck with zuchinni is to my liking as well. It was tender and sweet yet it do not have the overpowering duck taste that i used to hate. The three types of pastas we ordered includes bacon and mushroom aglio, brewurtz with cream and shrimp with orange and basil sauce. Forgotten to take a picture of the brewurtz with cream as iwas too hungry to remember to take a photo. =p The spagetti was cook just right. For us, one portion per person is a tad too much for us. 2 sharing one would be just right as we also enjoyed some appetizers earlier. Total cost of the meals including 5 soft drink is abt 54 which i would not consider too expensive for the standard and the quality of the food. ![]() tomato bruschetta served with olive oil and balsamic SEA's turn Smoke Duck... Met yun at one fullerton where we stand around but the view wasnt that good as we were block by some trees. But nevertheless, it was a spectacular performance. I remember that i watch last year firework with ellyn and sylvia as well. =) Did video it down. Would try to upload soon. Quality isnt that good. After that, we were led to walk all the way down beyood clifford pier before we can get across the road. Slowly, everyone parted ways, leaving me and ellyn to chill alittle before going back home. Wanted tcc but it was full, proceeded to central where i decided to go to the sun and moon dining. I tried the tofu cheesecake which i had craved for a long long time. It was really good. Sorry no pictures. I was too anxious to try it. =x. The cheese isnt too heavy and it was just right. The base was crispy and tasty. Really think it is really good.
